What Are You Doing Over Labor Day Weekend 2017?
2017 Labor Day Festivals and Events Tampa FL
Here in Tampa FL, it doesn’t feel like summer should have its last hurrah. But even if you can find plenty of reason to continue enjoying the weather, three-day weekends are bound to become scarce, at least until the winter holidays hit hard. Either way, Labor Day weekend is a time to celebrate the hard work we do all year long. What better way to celebrate than to not work? Here are some 2017 Labor Day festivals and other events happening for 2017.
Events happening Sept. 1 to Sept. 4 Tampa FL
Most of the area events hosted for Tampa FL will not be Labor Day themed. Which makes sense, if you consider the holiday centers on the idea of hard work. Rather than treat it as an opportunity for a job fair, we like to think of it as a finish to the summer season. Perhaps most of these events coincidentally occur over the long weekend, but they’re a fun way to spend it nonetheless.
A festival dedicated to geckos, eh? It makes more sense when you find out it is hosted in Gulfport, where the gecko is the unofficial city mascot. This is the 17th annual event and if the theme isn’t odd enough, it actually takes on a 1960s hippie-theme. Along with this is live music, plenty of local vendors, a walking parade, costume contest and street dance dueling.
Taking Place on Friday, Sept 1. and Saturday, Sept. 2, Celebrate Oldsmar will feature live music, local food trucks, craft beer, family-friendly activities, a bounce house for the kids, a craft table and pony rides. Plus, a fireworks show on Saturday.
Going to a fair might be one idea of what summer is like, but for many of us a weekend barbecue is what we’ll miss most. Going to the Yboar City Bacon Brew and BBQ Fest might be a larger-scale affair compared to whatyou host, but who can pass on great food? Taking place on Sept. 2 from 12 a.m. to 8 p.m., you’ll not want to miss out.
