2018 Volkswagen Beetle Tampa FL
Some say that Volkswagen has long specialized in compact models, but we like to think the brand has focused on unique options. It all started with one little vehicle, the Type 1, that invited you to start small. Its highly-recognizable appearance quickly gave it the Beetle nickname, and it’s a name that stuck. Today, the 2018 Volkswagen Beetle continues to capture the imagination and automotive enthusiasm of many Tampa FL drivers. This year a new Coast trim is special edition option that we think will garner interest in area drivers.
Why the VW Beetle? Its unique appearance definitely speaks to the heart of many shoppers looking for a vehicle that expresses their personality, but it’s also a practical car once you dig deeper. This model year, the engine has been upgraded to a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that offers 174 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. Now standard is a six-speed automatic transmission for an all-around smooth driving experience.
What’s new for the 2018 Volkswagen Beetle?
Across the lineup, the slight boost in engine size is the biggest news for the 2018 Volkswagen Beetle, but it’s the new special edition trim, the Coast, that provides is turning heads. Not that the Beetle ever struggled to do that to begin with.
It seems every year VW flaunts a new special edition model or two, and we don’t hear any complaints. The Coast is based on a concept vehicle from 2015, the Wave, except with a few interesting additions. First is an exclusive color option, Deep Sea Teal Metallic, which is only found on this trim level. Other unique features include a wood-appearance surfboard-inspired dash and Pepita cloth seating that inspires imagery of beachy waves. The Coast comes in both a convertible and coupe offerings, with a standard panoramic sunroof among the features of the coupe model.
Other trim levels in 2015 include the S, S with Style and Comfort, SE and Dune. Standard features include sport design front and rear bumpers, LED daytime running lights, cruise control, remote entry, Bluetooth, a 5-inch color touchscreen infotainment system and a rearview camera.
